The Australian coffee industry collectively throws out more than 65,000 tonnes of coffee grinds each year. These used grinds boast valuable compounds and substances such as antioxidants and caffeine, all of which support and maintain healthy skin.

Developed by Melbourne barista Hayden Thomson and wife Ashleigh Britton, Black Honey Skin Care is the by-product of solving an environmental issue with intelligent, effective, quality skin care.

“We were frustrated with conventional skin care products containing harsh ingredients and micro beads. Not only were we concerned about our own skin, but also the impact that these scrubs were having on the environment.” Says Hayden.

In response, Hayden & Ash have developed a way to up-cycle the used espresso coffee grinds into a nutrient rich and high energy exfoliate ingredient.

With an energising aroma of coffee and citrus, Black Honey’s thick and natural coffee scrub rubs on evenly to gently remove dull, dry surface cells while coconut and essential oils nourish and hydrate the skin - leaving it feeling incredibly smooth and moisturised.
