MTAM Subsidiary Mobile Monday Michigan Planning a Re-launch of Grand Rapids Mobile Monday Chapter

The hiatus is almost over! After months in a holding pattern due to changes in the chapter’s local leadership, Mobile Monday Grand Rapids now has a new Steering Committee Chairperson in Al Juarez, Director of Business Development at RX Networks. Arrangements are also being finalized for a host sponsorship from Priority Health, where the group will meet on a new monthly schedule on Monday evenings. Details will be available soon. All Mobile Monday Grand Rapids events are FREE to attend.

MTAM and the local organizer, Al Juarez, are currently seeking:

• Members of the Grand Rapids-area community engaged in mobile/wireless tech – in any industry – who would have interest in serving on the chapter’s Steering Committee to help plan topics and line up speakers for monthly events
• Submission of mobile/wireless-focused topic ideas for future events that will be of interest to members of the Grand Rapids-area tech community.
• Submission of Grand Rapids area-based speakers from any industry, and their email contact info, who are interested in sharing expertise related to the use of mobile/wireless technologies in their field

Anyone interested in participating on the Steering Committee, or wanting to submit a topic or speaker for consideration, can contact MTAM at info@GoMobileMichigan. Those interested in joining Mobile Monday Grand Rapids can sign-up for FREE at http://www.meetup.com/MoMoGR.

Mobile Monday Michigan is a subsidiary of the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM), and the local branch of the international Mobile Monday Organization. It is an open community of mobile/wireless industry visionaries, developers and influencers – from all industries - who meet regularly at networking/education-focused Meetups for idea sharing, product demos, trends discussion, educational presentations, networking and more.

“Grand Rapids really needs a resource focused specifically on looking at the big picture of mobile/wireless/connected technologies where people can go to get advice, make connections, learn about the latest in these technologies, and gain new opportunities,” says Chapter Leader, Al Juarez. “Mobile Mondays provide all this and more, and because we have the support of MTAM and the state’s other Mobile Monday Michigan chapters in Detroit, Ann Arbor and Lansing, we should have a wealth of opportunity to bring great information to the Grand Rapids tech community!”

MTAM Executive Director, Linda Daichendt indicates, “We’ve had many requests from members of the Grand Rapids tech community to get the chapter re-activated and meeting on a more regular basis, now we have someone from the area willing to help us lead that effort. It’s very important to us that we have local leadership running these chapters because they are more aware of the needs of the local tech community. However, Al can’t do it alone and we’re certainly hoping some other members of the Grand Rapids tech community will volunteer to assist this effort as well.”
