LITCHFIELD, Ill. -- The Montgomery County Toastmasters met at Fusion Aquatics & Fitness Center in Hillsboro, IL on 4-7-15. Eight club members attended along with two guests, Abbey Ruppert & Heather Ruppert. Both guests were invited by Club Vice President of Membership Martha Ruppert. So it was a great turn out! Although our guests weren't quite sure what to expect, our club entertained them and gave them a taste of Toastmasters.
The prepared speech was actually an Advanced Manual Project from the "Communicating on Video" manual. Jackie Rakers from Ohlman was the "Guest on a TV Talk Show" while Dr. Todd Austin from Virden was the "TV Talk Show Host". Austin is a Chiropractic Physician as well as a video blogger. His blogs include "The Dr. Todd Show", "The Biomat Show", "Cold Laser TV" and "The People of Toastmasters". Todd interviewed Jackie, the Executive Director of the IL Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, about "Understanding Your Homeowners Policy" for this project. The episode was taped in advance. Martha Ruppert evaluated Todd's portion of the project, while Cindy Brown evaluated Jackie's interview.
Club President Cindy Brown also served as Tabletopics Master. During Business, Cindy announced that the club will be hosting an OPEN HOUSE at their normal meeting place but at a special time on Tuesday 5-5-15 from 6 to 8 PM. Any interested central IL residents are encouraged to attend. The club will do several rounds of tabletopics, it'll be a meet and greet and refreshments will be served. If people want to stop by, but can't stay long, that's perfectly acceptable. All info is at this link:
