Amateur cyclists can celebrate the excitement of the Milan-San Remo with 2 can’t miss events

SAN REMO, Italy -- Two events that capitalize on the excitement of spring cycling season and the Milan – San Remo are coming up.

The first of the events, the Granfondo San Remo-San Remo “la Classicissima,” takes place on March 22.

It will allow amateur competitors to experience the atmosphere of the Milan-San Remo by taking part in the final leg of the race, the Ligurian challenge, before the professional cyclists arrive. The Ligurian challenge of the Milan-San Remo features the legendary climbs of the Cipressa, the Poggio, and the arrival in Via Roma in San Remo.

The second event, which takes place on April 26, is the Milan –San Remo Cicloturistica. It allows amateur competitors to test their stamina and cycling skills on the entire The Milan-San Remo route –the longest cycling route on the UCI World Tour calendar.

This 182 mi. (293 km) course spans six provinces, from Lombardy to the Riviera of Flowers, and crosses the Appenines and the Passo del Turchino.

Registration for the Granfondo San Remo-San Remo “la Classicissima” is $33 (30 Euros).
