Seea Releases 2015 Collection of Stylish Performance Surfwear

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. -- Seea is pleased to present its 2015 collection that continues to push the boundaries of fashionable and functional surfwear. The new collection expands upon Seea’s signature look of modern vintage elegance with more ready-to-wear items that easily transition from the ocean to any après surf occasion.

This season’s inspiration of the Italian Riviera and the homeland of designer, Amanda Chinchelli is alive in the original prints, unique color combinations, rich textured fabrics and newest styles.

“I just had my first child and was unable to go back home for two years. I was really homesick, so this season I wanted to celebrate my roots and the beauty of my country. The December collection has a classic feminine elegance with tones of champagne, burgundy, navy and sunset metallics. For March and April I had fun with a brighter palette, geometric repeats and of course lots of stripes, dreaming of taking my daughter for a “pedalo’ ride” in the warm Mediterranean Sea.”

Italy is present in the very fibers of the swimsuits too, as each piece is constructed out of Italian luxury nylon/spandex fabrics in UPF rating 30+ to 50+ sun protection and special textured jacquarded fabrics from a renowned Italian fabric mill founded in 1952 — the very era of surf and beach nostalgia that Seea was originally inspired by.

From golden geometric tiles reminiscent of southern Italy architecture, to abstract waves and brushstrokes, all of the prints are originals designed by Seea to have a distinct sophisticated, modern and lively aesthetic. Brightly colored stripes and textured fabrics round out the palette, offering the right amount of vivid color, texture and depth.

The 2015 lookbook still photography was captured by two renowned surf photographers: Nick LaVecchia, whose work has appeared in Surfer, Surfing, The Surfer’s Journal, Foam Symmetry and Monster Children magazines to name a few; and accomplished photojournalist Gabe Sullivan, who is the West Coast Editor for Men’s File Magazine and Senior Writer for Surfer Magazine.

Following up on Seea’s pioneering surf suits such as the Hermosa One-Piece with feminine sweetheart bust detail, the Swami's One-Piece with drop waist shorts and the Leucadia Bikini Top and High-Waist Skirted Bottom, the 2015 collection reinvents what’s expected of traditional surfwear into ensembles that are as classy, beautiful and elegant as the balletic grace of the women longboard surfers who wear them.

Highlights of the collection include:

Vintage-inspired surf one-pieces that deliver the utmost in surf functionality and style: The flattering construction of ‘50s and ‘60s New Look dresses that minimize the waistline is adapted in The Tofino with a vintage leg cut and square neckline that looks great on all body types and three-quarter sleeve Zuma. The Lima Romper with Peter Pan collar and skirted bottom is a whimsical take on the tennis dress.

Separates that offer several ready-to-wear styling options: The Nexpa Zip-Up Jacket is a sporty rashguard alternative for SUPing and other aquatic or outdoor activities. The evolution of the cropped rashguard is The Mundaka Wrap Top, easily worn with both a swimsuit bottom or over a dress to go out to lunch. Our new take on the traditional surf boardshorts are the darling The Avalon Overalls and fluttery Maderas Shorts. Following up on our loose-fitting Montara Rashguard from last year, The Windansea Surf shirt is a loosely draping button-up shirt for surfing or afterwards. Our newest surf leggings, The Balboa borrowed tips from horseback riding pants and features stitching on the outside seams to eliminate chafing and inner thigh rash while surfing.

Gorgeous bikinis that stay in place while surfing and swimming with unique fashionable details: The Nosara Bikini top features athletic strappy back detailing and drawstring bottom to stay on while duck-diving. The Pavones Bikini’s unique cross-back and adjustable strap top allows for ideal comfort adjustment, and boyshort bottoms are as comfortable as yoga shorts.

The first delivery of styles will be hitting retail stores such as Thalia Surf Shop and Shopbop.com in time for the holidays and will go live on http://www.theseea.com/ website on December 8.
