Best Lawyers in America© in their 2015 publication.
Best Lawyers® is one of the most well-known and prominent publications in the legal field. They have earned respect in the legal world since their first publication in 1983 and are often regarded as a reliable source linking lawyers to clients. It has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. In the 2014 edition of Best Lawyers in America© many attorneys throughout the nation in 137 different practice areas are recognized. Best Lawyers® has gained credibility through the extensive peer-review process they undergo to determine which lawyers to include in their publication. In the upcoming 2015 publication in which Craven will be recognized, Best Lawyers® received over 5.5 million votes from over 52,000 leading attorneys to compile their list. They voted on the legal abilities of other attorneys in their practice areas.

An extensive peer-review based process must take place before a lawyer can be included in Best Lawyers®.
First, lawyers must be nominated for inclusion. The next step in the process is for current lawyers on the list to peer-review the nominees so that Best Lawyers® can fairly determine which nominated lawyers will receive the honor of being on the list of Best Lawyers in America© . If a lawyer is selected and has been confirmed to be in good standing with the ethics committee of their state bar association, finally, they can be granted inclusion in the upcoming edition of Best Lawyers®.
