CPA Technology Analyzes Trends Founds in 2014 Construction Technology Report

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. -- JBKnowledge in partnership with Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and Texas A&M University’s Construction Science Department have released this year’s 2014 Construction Technology Report. The results were released at the Associated General Contractors of American (AGC) IT Forum in Chicago, and showed a few major trends in the data.

One concern found was the number of spreadsheets and disparate non-integrated applications companies are using. A second concern highlighted in the report is the lack of technology providers that are offering mobile capabilities.

While these trends are fairly new, CPA Technology and Sage Software have been making strides in eliminating these issues. Ben Hofferman, CEO of CPA Technology and National Chair of the IT Council at CFMA, is very familiar with what technology is available for builders. “Sage Software has been the leading name in construction technology and provides easy solutions to many of the concerns presented at this year’s AGC IT Forum,” says Hofferman.

Sage Software provides an integrated platform and robust reporting to avoid confusion and disorganization resulting from multiple sources of tracking and results. For those companies that require access to spreadsheets, Sage products can also input and export with Microsoft Excel, allowing users to work around their individual needs.

Sage also understands that smaller builders are a big focus. While these companies have adopted less technology over the years, as their voices are heard, it is clear that their needs differ from big operations. Products such as Sage 100 Contractor are designed to handle the requirements of smaller builders by linking all phases of the business cycle: estimating, scheduling, production/project management, accounting, and analysis/reporting.

Contractors have access to mobile capabilities with the use of Sage products such as Sage Construction Anywhere. Sage Construction Anywhere is designed to mobilize projects by allowing professionals to access all of the project information from an online hub. This technology can eliminate delays contractors experience between job sites and the office.

Though the 2014 Construction Technology Report has shown that contractors are facing technology concerns, with proper knowledge and materials their fears can be eliminated. CPA Technology provides a myriad of solutions to builder issues and with the correct products, businesses can adapt and develop.
