NAVI MUMBAI, India -- Natural gas accounts for around 10% share of the overall energy consumption in India. Widening demand and supply gap has resulted in increasing natural gas imports in the form of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas). The natural gas imports are expected to rise significantly over the next five years. The rising concern of Green House Gas emissions and low price of natural gas is driving the demand for natural gas in India.
