ORLANDO, Fla. -- On March 16, 2014 come join the Florida Auxiliary of Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. and Painting With A Twist as Florida Wives Behind the Badge raises money for the Johnathan Scott Pine Memorial Fund, set up in honor of Orange County’s most recent fallen officer.

February 2013 Deputy Pine responded to his final calling while reporting to a suspected break-in. When deputies arrived on scene, the subject fled, firing multiple shots and striking Deputy Pine. He was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, but succumbed to his injuries. Deputy Pine is survived by his wife and three young children.

Florida Auxiliary of Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. is honoring Deputy Pine and his two years of service to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. “Painting With a Purpose” will be held at Painting With A Twist – Orlando, 6700 Conroy Windermere Rd., Orlando, Florida 32853 on March 16, 2014 at 2:00pm. Cost is $35 per guest and each participant will paint a "Tree Of Light" painting to take home. Seats can be booked online by visiting www.tinyurl.com/Mar16Pwat and 50% of event sales will go directly to Deputy Jonathan Scott Pine’s Memorial Fund. This art class welcomes novices who have never painted before. The resident artist will take painters step by step through the process of creating their own ready-to-hang masterpiece.

Florida Auxiliary - Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. will also be holding a raffle and silent auction with proceeds to benefit the fund as well. Currently, FL WBTB is seeking donations for raffle items or door prices.
