Desert Premier League (DPL) Season 1 (January-March 2013) was the start of a new cricket phenomena, as 32 corporate and club teams battled out at Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Skyline University College for the ultimate champions trophy as well as cash and prizes worth over AED50,000.

Following the success of the tournament, a lot of teams and players contacted us to congratulate and also lend their support to future events. Within months that led to the creation of CricOn Sports Services, the 1st and only dedicated cricket events and leagues’ company that will aim to cater to the needs of corporate companies and individuals from around the world to fulfill their passion for playing and enjoying the game.

With the introduction of CricOn to the local cricket circuit, we are confident we will create a platform for not just professional cricketers, but corporates and amateurs too. Our focus will primarily be on promoting the game of cricket in the masses.

DPL Season 2 will be one such event where entry will be restricted to corporate and club teams that do not include any professional “A” Division Teams. DPL Season 2 will aim to develop social cohesion and interaction among cricket loving people.

DPL Season 2 promises to be much bigger and better; not just with an increase in the number of teams participating, but also with upgraded facilities, both being prestigious locations in the UAE. We have got tremendous response from foreign teams this year and their participation will only add to the competitiveness of this event.

A total of 48 teams and over 750 players will participate in 95 T20 Matches, making DPL Season 2 the biggest domestic cricket tournament in recent years. The venues itself will encourage all teams to put on a fabulous effort.

The 2 prestigious venues for DPL Season 2 are;

1) Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi

2) Emirates The Sevens, Dubai

Entry fee will be AED10,000 per team, payable along with the attached form to be filled out and sent to the following email address; play@cricon.ae

The entry fee will entitle each team to at least 3 league matches, 16 colored kits, caps, and refreshments (mineral water and sportswater/energy drinks) on each of the matches. Cash & Prizes worth over AED50,000 are up for grabs.

All matches will be played in colored clothing and white cricket balls. Semi Finals and the Final will be played under floodlights at Emirates The Sevens, Dubai.

The tournament will begin on March 7th 2014 and conclude with a glittering finale on May 30th 2014. A Press Conference along with the Groupings will be held one week prior to start.

Corporate and Club Teams are welcome to participate but please note that we will strictly follow a first come first served rule.
