Epiphany Kendell : Self Publishing Luncheon

Martin Luther King once said “Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of true education.” Self-published author and fashion entrepreneur Epiphany Kendell had these very sentiments in mind when she teamed up public relations consultant Raven Robinson of Pr2Politics. The two met with a group of ambitious entrepreneurs over lunch at Chef Yu, an Asian bistro located a few blocks away from Time Square. This luncheon was launched as an educational initiative on behalf of Epiphany’s brand “Hood Girls Do It Better” #hgdib. to share tips on how others can self publish their own books and implement a cost-effective marketing plan.

Ms.Robinson moderated the luncheon while Epiphany led the conversation and answered inquires from her guest. Each attendee received a gift bag filled with a signed copy of Epiphany’s book along with sponsored print material from Black Enterprise and Essence. Pastry chef Takiyah Tinsley sponsored desert for the event. Outside of their gift bags each attendee received a voucher for a complimentary session with business coach and founder of Young Mogul Life magazine Lanier Logan as well as décor specialist Carmen Veal. We wanted to provide attendees resources that can help the overall spectrum of building their brand from their business, book publishing, events with proper décor planning and more. Epiphany’s upcoming projects will consist of more fashion endeavors such as image consulting work and the launch of her thrift store, but for now she sets out to inspire young girls being raised in the inner cities of America. We can expect Epiphany to produce more educational sessions such as these as apart of luncheon series, book tours, and career days. Her goal is to empower young women personally and professionally.

About Hood Girls Do It Better "The Hood Girls A-Z Guide To Success" :

A memoir and guide which Epiphany Kendell decided to compose when she observed young women in her community were lost and going through tough situations that she herself has experienced first hand. When young women were looking for advice she decided to write a guide to show them they are not the only ones going through tough times and situations as young women. She guides them through situations and help those who have not been through situations avoid them
