KEMP Technologies optimises LoadMaster OS for Cisco’s UCS servers

KEMP Technologies today announced that its LoadMaster Operating System (LMOS) is now optimised for bare metal operation on any Cisco UCS C-Series server, providing streamlined application delivery inside the UCS infrastructure. By successfully completing Cisco’s Interoperability Verification Testing (IVT) for this new offering, KEMP now provides a tested and proven ADC solution for all available Cisco UCS servers.

Cisco customers who had deployed Cisco ACE solutions can now confidently deploy KEMP’s LMOS for Cisco UCS C-Series Servers in their place. The new KEMP offering integrates directly onto high-performing C-Series server platforms to take advantage of Cisco’s advanced compute and I/O capabilities.

Customers deploying this full-featured, high-performance load balancing solution can maintain their established Cisco configuration, achieve a seamless integration and continue to manage IT in the way in which they are accustomed.

It holds enormous value to ventures in emerging markets, specifically within the enterprise space, and leverage off next-generation solutions to help support core infrastructure says Desmond Pillay, Africa Sales Country Manager KEMP Technologies.

“This offering empowers decision makers to keep their technology up to date and do so with a level of flexibility that is conducive to growth. This vendor partner solution integration is ideally positioned for the emerging marketplace,” he adds.

KEMP’s new offering provides flexible scalability so that when businesses’ application needs grow, additional resources can be added to the solution to provide increased performance. With the LoadMaster-enabled UCS C-Series server platforms, customers will achieve improved performance velocity and an overall enhanced user experience.

“LoadMaster offers comprehensive options for customers migrating from the ACE product. Not only will former ACE customers achieve a seamless migration, but the scalability and high-performance qualities of KEMP’s application delivery services provide an improved user experience,” said Iain Kenney, Director of Product Management at KEMP Technologies. “The newest certification strengthens our ongoing relationship with Cisco as we provide powerful, scalable application delivery controllers that handle the heavy workloads of enterprises.”

Cisco customers can now benefit from UCS-optimised load balancing software from KEMP as a premium option for enhanced performance and availability for their applications. Because the applications now do not need to communicate with a load balancing appliance external to the UCS infrastructure, communication paths and response times can be minimised, avoiding conventional latency issues.

A typical use case is a cloud service provider that can now design high-performance virtual solutions optimised for production workload and business-critical applications such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems that require even higher standards of availability and performance.

By deploying application-centric load-balancing software from KEMP, in conjunction with Cisco UCS, administrators will benefit from load-balancing functionality that is also running natively within the UCS infrastructure, and thus capable of dynamically adjusting workload demands as each new application instance is raised.

From compute to network, physical to virtual, all areas of the unified Cisco solution can be managed from Cisco UCS Manager, including load balancing. Policy-based management boosts operational agility and scalability with automation while helping to optimise workloads across UCS servers, load balancing and virtual machines.

As a registered member of the Cisco Developer Network (CDN), KEMP offers a complementary product offering and collaborates with Cisco to meet the needs of joint customers. The CDN unites Cisco with third-party developers of hardware and software to deliver tested interoperable solutions to the market.
