Sport For Jove Theatre Company is proud to include as part of their 2013/2014 outdoor festival season, a new adaptation of the French masterpiece, Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, written and directed by Damien Ryan, and starring Yalin Ozucelik, Scott Sheridan and Lizzie Schebesta.

Rarely performed in Sydney, Australia the French classic Cyrano de Bergerac is more than a play about love, it has a powerful and contagious philosophy of living up to ones principles, of courage, and of selfless sacrifice. The story of our fears of failing in the game of love, and the barriers of wit and prickliness we put up to mask our loneliness and vulnerability; a story of a daring career soldier who lacks the simple courage to express his feelings to a woman; a story of women too witty, sophisticated and intelligent to be easily wooed; and a story that inspires our respect for what it is to be an individual, something a little different from the crowd.
