Global Renaissance Entertainment Group Teams With $650 Million Final Destination Franchise Creator

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Global Renaissance Entertainment Group announced today that it has entered into a multi-picture production deal with Jeffrey Reddick, creator of the blockbuster movie franchise "Final Destination." The franchise has generated over $650 million dollars in worldwide box office receipts, cementing Reddick's position as a leader in the horror/thriller genre. Reddick's new slate of films with Global will uniquely feature multi-ethnic, culturally diverse casts, bridging Urban and mainstream audiences in new and dynamic ways.

The deal includes Global's acquisition of Reddick's screenplay "Superstition: Final Chance," a horror/thriller set on a University campus, which is contemplated as the first in a series of pictures that will leverage Reddick's fan base garnered from the five "Final Destination" movies released over the past decade. CEO, Arthur Wylie and COO, Dale Godboldo will produce the picture for Global Renaissance Entertainment Group, with Reddick executive producing. The project has begun pre-production, and is in talks with a director to helm.

Reddick will also work with Global to develop the adaptation of NY Times Best Selling author Omar Tyree's supernatural thriller ‘Leslie’ into a trilogy of pictures that will take its characters beyond the pages of the book. Tyree is best known for his iconic 'Flyy Girl' trilogy of novels, which were recently acquired by Lionsgate's Codeblack Films for adaptation into a series of movies. Tyree has been read by over 8 million people worldwide, and has generated in excess of $30 million for publishing giant Simon and Schuster.

"With the recent success of movies like The Conjuring, which generated over $100 million worldwide, we knew that we wanted to be in the horror/thriller space," states Wylie. "We couldn't be more excited to partner with Jeffrey on this endeavor, a trusted brand himself, which allows us to take full advantage of the market's clear demand for this genre."

The Reddick/Tyree deals are part of Global's broader strategy of leveraging brands already ubiquitous in their markets, to expand into new opportunities worldwide. Media tours will be launched in early 2014 to facilitate direct fan engagement for Reddick's and Tyree's brands, and will spotlight associated brands in education and merchandising.

"Global's current positioning is based on our strategy of cross-marketing our projects across varying demographics," states Godboldo. "Our new partnership with Reddick opens up a unique and exciting new way to reach what we call the 'Verge Generation' - audiences that have grown up expecting media to not only challenge their existing ideas of genre, but as well, reflect a modern, culturally diverse America."
