LONDON, ENGLAND: Matrix42 (www.matrix42.com) today announced it has released Service Pack 1 for Matrix42 Enterprise Manager. There have been many changes around the delegation concept for assigning roles and rights. Additionally, the Service Pack features many enhancements that make executing daily tasks even easier.
Clients such as the BMW Group who are already using Matrix42 Enterprise Manager, can now upgrade the features of their solution with Service Pack 1. The new authorisation wizard provides administrators with additional features and simplified functions for configuring user roles and assigning rights en masse. In the past, if one person was assigned different roles and therefore different rights, Matrix42 Enterprise Manager would aggregate these authorisations. Service Pack 1 now allows for much more refined rights assignment, and therefore better control of authorisations for packages, computers or functions.
Improved delegation concept
“Service Pack 1 will make the Matrix42 Enterprise Manager delegation concept even simpler and more efficient,” says Roland Schäfer, Senior Product Manager at Matrix42 AG. “This is not only because the current version has a new authorisation wizard, but also because we were quick to address the shortcomings of the SCCM 2012 authorisation model and remedy them with our solution. Now, it only takes three simple steps in the wizard to specifically assign rights to teams or individuals. This means that even our customers’ most challenging requirements can now be met.”
At the same time, the presentation of the authorisation concept has been improved and transparency has been increased. The authorisations for a specific user or team can now be seen from every possible perspective. At any given moment, it is now possible for users to see who is authorised to perform certain tasks based on computers, roles and locations. Thanks to these changes, even complicated batch operations for rights assignment are now incredibly easy to plan and can be completed with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Over 30 additional features for simplifying daily Microsoft SCCM tasks
To make IT administration easier, over 30 minor functions have been added to help even inexperienced users and administrators perform any SCCM task without training, and more importantly, without risk.
