CHICAGO, IL, June 23, 2025 - Patrice L. Stanford has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Stanford has carved out a distinguished career in the maintenance field, overcoming significant challenges to reach their current position as Chief Engineer at Astoria Tower Chicago. With 20 years of experience, they oversee a 30-story condominium high rise in the South Loop, managing over 250 units and maintaining luxury amenities, pools, and rooftop units. Their responsibilities also include ensuring the upkeep of the facility, addressing residents' needs, and adhering to government funding codes and private funding requirements.
Prior to their current role, Stanford served as Chief Engineer at the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation. In this capacity, they honed their skills in managing a multi-family complex and an independent senior living building furthering solidifying their reputation for excellence in engineering and maintenance. Before that, they were the Director of Maintenance at HMG Park Manor of Humble, Texas, where they demonstrated their leadership abilities by overseeing maintenance operations and ensuring a high standard of service for long term care and rehabilitation patients.
From 2017 to 2020, Stanford was the Regional Maintenance Manager at Pathway Senior Living, coordinating maintenance activities across multiple senior living facilities. Earlier in their career, they spent over a decade as a Regional Maintenance Coordinator with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago from 2006 to 2017.
Stanford's educational background includes certifications in electrical, electronics and communications engineering at Coyne College and graduated in 2013. Stanford is HVAC certified and has recently become a Licensed Stationary Engineer for the City of Chicago. Their commitment to professional development is further evidenced by numerous certifications, including People's Customer Service and HUD Awards.
In addition to their professional achievements, Stanford is actively involved in civic organizations. They volunteer with their local church and community and is a member of AmeriCorps alumni. Stanford has served with City Year Chicago and Public Allies Chicago. In their free time, they enjoy photography, writing and making music as hobbies.
Stanford wants to encourage others, showing them that someone like them -a Black non-binary person from the Southside of Chicago raised by a single parent, who completed college in trade school-can still thrive and succeed. They aim to inspire individuals in the trades, particularly women of color and members of the LGBTQ+ community, by showcasing that everyone has the potential to achieve their goal and make a significant impact. Stanford attributes many of their accomplishments to their former supervisor at Catholic Charities, who gave them new opportunities.
Looking ahead, Stanford aims to return to a regional position that involves more travel, with aspirations to manage larger and more prestigious locations. Their goal is to demonstrate how residential facilities can operate professionally and efficiently even in strict budget-controlled communities. Despite starting as a janitor in 2006 and having to prove themselves in an industry of being a minority, they are proud of where they are today and hopes to manage a larger residential portfolio.
