1. I used social signals, I posted my post to facebook, linkedin, twitter and Google plus; in any way I can, to the wall, groups, communities and pages. Then I used social signal exchange services I use to get more shares and retweets.

2. I sent emails and solo ads to get some fast traffic to that post.

3. I posted a classified ad

4. Then I posted 2 threads in 2 forums that allow me to post links, and invited people from the forum to read my post.

5. Finally I posted a short guest post in another high traffic blog that is also related to the topic of my blog post.

I know some of you will say that it is a good SEO link building strategies, social signals, forums, guest blogging. It is a content marketing strategy that Google really like. But I did not get enough backlinks, the post is still PR0, and if I was trying to build links in SEO terms, I would use more guest posting, blog comments, Wiki backlinks and maybe press release and some articles from popular directories.

When we build links in SEO terms we consider authority, page rank and relevance of pages we put our backlinks in, but in terms of traffic we focus on where our target audience hangout and how to attract them to visit our site.

My post got about 1000 hits in one day after my intensive promotion, maybe most of them came from email marketing and solo ads, but they did interact and bookmarked my post.
