Senior VP of IDSI’s Performance Systems Division, Joe Collins, Receives PMP Certification

IDSI is proud to announce that our Senior Vice President of the Performance Systems Division, Joe Collins, has completed the Program Management Professional (PMP) ® Certification program from the Project Management Institute (PMI) ® and will be officially receiving his certification as a PMP®. As stated on the PMI’s® Official Website, “PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers. Globally recognized and demanded, the PMP® demonstrates that you have the experience, education and competency to lead and direct projects.” In order to even apply to for a PMP®, one must have either a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours of leading and directing projects and thirty-five hours of project management education, or a High School diploma (or equivalent) with at least five years of project management experience and 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and thirty-five hours of project management education. To officially receive the certification, candidates must take a formal exam. (www.pmi.org). Mr. Collins met those qualifications easily and passed the exam with flying colors.

Mr. Collins, a Navy veteran, has been with IDSI for over 10 years and has held the positions of Subject Matter Expert, Operations Manager, and Vice President of Business Development, among others. He brings his knowledge and experience in the Department of Defense (DoD) and his years of experience in training to provide the customers of IDSI with successful solutions for human and organizational performance improvement.

Mr. Collins has over 12 years’ experience in the management of training programs and directly supervising analysis, design, development, operation, evaluation, and delivery of training/instructional systems. He has participated in analysis of several DOD and commercial technical, administrative, and supply courses providing background, research, data collection and evaluation, and report generation. Mr. Collins has also managed development of Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) and Interactive Courseware (ICW) including designing storyboards, researching and acquiring and manipulating graphics, providing Subject Matter Expert reviews and analysis, briefing customers, and participating in In-Progress-Reviews with customers for several technical training projects. Mr. Collins has also provided management, research, and production support for numerous Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Joint Forces oriented development projects.
