Workplace Law takes on 78 mile Hero Ride challenge

Help For Heroes was selected by Workplace Law employees from a number of charities for the company to support in 2013. Workplace Law work primarily in the facilities management sector, which includes large numbers of ex-servicemen, so the charity was an ideal candidate for us to raise money for. With a large number of keen cyclists at Workplace Law and a team that has taken on many challenges in recent years, joining the Hero Ride was an obvious choice.

Hero Ride, taking place on Sunday 2 June 2013, will see cyclists from all corners of the country stage fundraising bike rides and meet en masse in Blackheath and ride together into central London in support of our wounded.

Led by 100 wounded Servicemen, women and veterans, Hero Ride will be the biggest cycling demonstration of national support for the wounded this country has ever seen.

We will begin our challenge at 3.30am on Sunday morning, cycling 68 miles down to Blackheath to meet our fellow cyclists.

Hero Ride is aiming to raise over £2m for Help for Heroes. The funding will provide support for those who have suffered and survived injuries in recent conflicts, and their families, for life.

In the past decade Workplace Law has raised over £30,000 from charitable activities, including cycling from London to Cambridge on a number of occasions and our Managing Director, David Sharp, cycling over 1,000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

For this challenge we have set ourselves thee target of raising £3,500 for Help For Heroes. Donations can be made online here: http://www.bmycharity.com/workplacelawheroride

Gavin Bates, Community and Communications Manager, commented:

“I’m delighted we’re taking part in the Hero Ride this year and raising money for Help For Heroes. In our line of work we encounter many who have served our country and it is wonderful to be doing our bit to support those that have been wounded in the line of duty.”
