KALAMAZOO, MI, June 28, 2023 - Kyle T. Horton has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on five years of experience in his role, Mr. Horton is recognized for his skill and leadership as PGA director of golf at Kalamazoo Country Club. Since stepping into the role in 2019, he has utilized his expertise in the sport to lead the country club's 30 golf employees in providing a world-class experience for members. Previously, Mr. Horton gained invaluable experience as assistant golf professional at Kalamazoo Country Club and in similar positions at Miami Beach Golf Club, Indian Creek Country Club and Bay Harbor Golf Club.
Mr. Horton sought an education at Ferris State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in marketing and business from Ferris State University in 2008. He is a longtime member of the Western Michigan PGA Board of Directors, currently serving as president, and is a member of PGA of America.
Known for being generous with his time and genuinely interested in his clients' progress, Mr. Horton is highly skilled at listening and developing relations with others; he applies this same skill to running the golf program at Kalamazoo Country Club. He always seeks to learn from those around him. These talents have resulted in several industry recognitions, including a Private Merchandiser of the Year Award for the state of Michigan for two consecutive years, as well as status as a national finalist for the award in 2022.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Horton strives to win the National Merchandiser of the Year Award for private golf clubs and to be named Golf Professional of the Year for the state of Michigan. He also looks forward to continuing to develop his skills as a manager and mentor and providing world-class service to his club's members and guests.
When he is not working, Mr. Horton enjoys spending time with his wife, Sara, and their 2-year-old daughter, Madison, as well as going to parks, reading and dining. A volunteer within his local community, he provides free golf instruction through the West Michigan chapter of First Tee, a nonprofit organization that teaches children life lessons and social skills through golf.
