DENVER, CO, May 18, 2023 - Douglas Brennan, MD has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After working as a law enforcement and FBI special agent for more than a decade, Dr. Brennan was injured during SWAT training. However, he was cross-trained as a tactical medic, so after his injury, he decided to utilize that training and pursue a career in medicine. Backed by years of professional expertise, he presently excels as a physician with McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Similarly, Dr. Brennan works as a physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and as an attending physician through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

An expert in his field, Dr. Brennan holds a Bachelor of Science in computer and systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master's degree in public administration from California State University. Subsequently, he received an MD from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, completed residencies in psychiatry and forensic psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and is board certified in the same disciplines through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Brennan aligns himself with the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, the American Psychiatric Association, the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society. Due to his outstanding breadth of knowledge, he has co-authored a paper on providing culturally competent care to emergency responders, including law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, and more. He also contributed to "Lone-actor Terrorism." Throughout his career, Dr. Brennan has focused his research on forensic psychiatry in the context of caring for military veterans who struggle with PTSD and substance abuse issues.

In light of his considerable accomplishments, Dr. Brennan won an Achievement Medal for Leadership through the U.S. Navy, several commendations through the San Bernardino Police Department, and was named Top Marksman through the police academy. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in his family and his work with the FBI. The cornerstone of his success lay with his parents who fostered his passions, taught him to persevere and work hard, and allowed him to learn from his experiences. In the coming years, Dr. Brennan intends to connect with the University of Colorado in order to teach classes and supervise medical trainees.
