Nick Jankel's "Rise, The Four Elementals" Wins Prestigious da Vinci Eye Award

TRENTON, NJ, May 03, 2023 - "Rise, The Four Elementals," the fifth book from noted leadership expert and keynote speaker Nick Jankel, has won the prestigious da Vinci Eye Award for its innovative cover art.

Each year, the Eric Hoffer Book Award presents the da Vinci Eye Award to books with superior cover artwork. Cover art is judged on both content and style.

The cover of "Rise, The Four Elementals," by Canadian illustrator Tom Gravestock, "brings to life the key concept of the book: We are not limited to one fixed personality our entire lives but are large and contain multitudes (to paraphrase Walt Whitman)," Jankel says.

"We all have four powerful superheroes within us ('Elementals'), rich in unique superpowers, that we can choose to wake up," he adds. "The young man on the cover, my son's profile, shows how much awesomeness is waiting to be unleashed within us all, and particularly in young adults."

Of the cover illustration, Gravestock says, "I was trying to convey the galaxy of thoughts and choices and feelings that exist within a teenager's mind. The symbols represent various stages of struggle and bliss within the mind of the youth that will form into an adult."

"Rise, The Four Elementals: Lead Yourself to a Life of Courage, Truth, Creativity, and Love by Awakening the Wisdom Within," was born from Nick's efforts to help his kids deal with change, challenge, and crisis using the leadership tools and practices he shares with C-Suite executives. Initially a love letter to his son, "Rise" grew into a book for all young adults — and all those who have been young adults — who are struggling with mental health issues and relationship anxieties, or worries about everything from careers to climate change.

"Rise" contains bite-size nuggets of wisdom, brought to life by Gravestock's illustrations, grouping them into four distinct ways we can solve complex challenges and find our way to a life full of meaning, well-being, and belonging.
