March 14, 2023 - SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is advising stakeholders that the European Union (EU) is proposing to regulate perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS), its salts and PFHxS-related compounds in consumer products.
The European Commission held a one-month consultation between February 9 and March 9, 2023, covering the proposal to include PFHxS, its salts and PFHxS-related compounds under Part A of Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on persistent organic pollutants (POP Recast Regulation).
SGS has published SafeGuardS 023.23 to help businesses understand the proposed restrictions. Included in the SafeGuardS is a table with highlights of the provisions in the draft proposal.
