SAN DIEGO, CA, September 22, 2022 - Jackson Design and Remodeling (JDR) has been honored with a prestigious Master Design Award for a Del Mar bathroom transformed into a "Sparkling Spa." The dramatic result earned a bronze award in the "Bathrooms over $75,000" category in this year's competition. Sponsored by Qualified Remodeler magazine, the Master Design Awards is the premier national contest recognizing outstanding achievement in residential remodeling projects in 22 categories.
The winning project, led by JDR Senior Designer Gabriel Sepulveda, is a refreshing space designed for a couple who wanted a spa in their coastal home where they could spend dedicated time for self-care and wellness. They wanted to relax and decompress from busy lifestyles in a serene, spacious environment with the feel of a modern luxury hotel. The new bathroom encompasses both a cleansing sauna and a rejuvenating steam shower. A dramatic wall of intricate mosaic tile in shades of glittering metallic blue is a focal point. Vibrant blue laminate cabinetry is a creative element with modern niches that make a stylish display for towels and accessories. Generous storage is contained within the cabinetry, where large drawers were given the appearance of several smaller drawers with the artistic placement of doors and handles. The elegant gleam of brushed brass hardware is amplified by layers of lighting. This inviting space evokes a sumptuous hotel spa, with custom details that make it feel like home.
Master Design Award entries are judged on overall impression, aesthetic appeal, attention to detail, handling of unusual situations and more.
