Residents Medical Group Appears At The IMG Event 2022

LOS ANGELES, CA, September 22, 2022 - The IMG (International Medical Graduate) Event, held for the first time in 2021 at Central Park, recently rounded off its second edition last weekend at the Randall's Island Wards Meadow Picnic Area.

The brainchild of Dr. Victor Sebastian Arruarana, an Argentinean Doctor who came to the U.S. five years ago to complete his residency program and start his practice as a physician in the U.S., the event was a lot of fun and brought together more than 450 international medical graduates.

The event had already created quite a ripple during its first edition last year. Dr. Arruarana's blog post that contained a detailed description of the novel event and what inspired him to come up with the idea of an annual IMGs gathering was featured on the official website of ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates).

The IMG 2022 featured resident doctors, current and future applicants, program directors, and clinicians invited to speak on the podium and share their experiences completing residencies in the United States.

However, more than anything, the event provided the opportunity for IMGs from all over the world to gather in one place, network and socialize, hang out, exchange cultures and knowledge, and find study partners.

The central theme was, of course, the speeches given by the guests – among them residency program directors, clinicians, physicians currently on the advisory board of ECFMG, and other experts in the field.

There were also a lot of fun side activities – live music, DJs, food, picnic, consulting booths, games, red carpet photos, giveaways, and much more. The event also included a suture workshop, a yoga session, and two guided meditation sessions.

Residents Medical Group at IMG 2022

Residents Medical Group, the leading medical residency consultancy in the country, also attended the event and had its booth at the venue. According to Dr. Michael Everest, the chairman of Residents Medical, the event proved to be a valuable experience for all involved.

Dr. Michael Everest revealed that the residency specialists of Residents Medical Group who attended the event were happy about the opportunities they found to speak to medical graduates from many different countries.

During these conversations, the residency specialists gained valuable insights into the aspirations and expectations of the IMGs about residency programs in the United States and their plans as certified clinicians.

Dr. Michael Everest remarked that Residents Medical would make good use of these insights in the future when looking to find appropriate residency programs in the U.S. for foreign medical graduates.

While talking about the IMG Event, Dr. Michael Everest also revealed that Residents Medical has recently introduced a complimentary Zoom consultancy feature to reach out to more residency applicants.

This feature will allow aspiring candidates from all over the world to get in touch with one of the residency specialists of Residents Medical and discuss their goals, requirements, and expectations regarding completing a medical residency in the U.S.
