The book takes place around 350 AD in the sub-Saharan jungle. An evil priest wants to destroy the jungle and kidnap the local tribes to work for her.

The story revolves around the young male Abdel.
He had just become the leader of his tribe when his dad died.
Not much more than twelve years old, Abdel has to fight to make his tribe survive.

Spellbinder is immortal and has tried to die of old age.
But his curse forces him to keep on living until he has repaid the innocent lives that his own undead army killed.

But behind the evil priest, Spellbinder senses something else.
