DETROIT, MI, March 08, 2022 - Owner and Operator Serafim Mazurs signed a lease on the property situated Inside the Russel Industrial Center. The Russel is most notably known for hosting events such as Diplo's Mad Decent Block Party, and being home to hundreds of local Detroit artists.
HASTE Detroit will host a variety of different events, featuring live DJs and performers. Perhaps the most striking feature of the nightclub will be its custom-built LED stage and its incorporation of modern yet industrial gothic decor. With 1,200 square feet to work with and a max capacity of 200 people, the club will feature 2 VIP sections and a built-out bar area. There will also be a VIP section behind the DJ booth, allowing those with access to walk up a flight of stairs, much like the performers do, to relax on a platform behind the DJ throughout the evening.
"I spent a lot of time getting to know Detroit's music crowd, connecting with many talented local DJs and music artists. I feel like now more than ever, many artists need smaller venues and collaborative spaces to build a foundation for themselves." Mazurs said. "I'd describe it kind of like a modernized spin on old techno clubs, Brining in elements from both sides."
Mazurs said he views the venue as a blending of mediums with the use of murals along the walls.
"I just wanted to incorporate art, fashion, and music together, as they should be. I want this to feel like you're entering a club in the Tron movies, incorporating transarchitecture."
The club is 18 and up, and is planned on opening in early May 2022.
