CORVALLIS, OR, March 02, 2022 - Just in time for summer travel planning, YurtsAndCabins today introduced a web mapping application featuring 100+ Pacific Northwest parks with bookable yurts or cabins for easier camping. Following curated links, users connect to official park websites, their campground reservation systems—which may otherwise be hard to find—and to a popular website with plenty of photos and reviews.
"YurtsAndCabins helps vacationers plan a more homey trip, where they can settle in comfortably amid acres of parkland," said Bob Poulsen, lead developer. "Options range from a basic teepee at Clyde Holliday State Recreation Site near John Day, to fully outfitted glamping tents at Moran State Park on Orcas Island, to over 50 parks with a wide variety of reservable cabins."
Each location is within a publicly run park in Oregon and Washington. The sites include national parks and forests, state parks, county parks and regional parks.
As a bonus, the map shows over a dozen historic lodges on state and national land. The map view can be filtered to show any combination of yurts/cabins/lodges. And the base map can be switched between street maps, USGS topographic or USGS aerial imagery.
