"Spirit of Peru" takes listeners on an inner journey

OCEAN CITY, N.J. - Feb. 8, 2021 - PeaceHear Recordings announced today the release of "Spirit of Peru" on all formats. Flutist Pamela Whitman and bassist Rich Kurtz join in an international collaboration with Peru's leading Incan pan flutist Cesar Villalobos. Whitman and Kurtz create new age music for meditation, yoga, massage and relaxation. Villalobos is recognized as a Peruvian Cultural Ambassador for disseminating his Andean musical heritage to international audiences.

The music was recorded in Peru and the United States and includes guest musicians from Nashville, New York, Lima, and Philadelphia all contributed. "Live from Peru" concert and virtual broadcast are scheduled for October, 2021.

Cesar Villalobos, founder of Inca Son, was born in Ascope, Peru. He has achieved international recognition with tours and awards, performing at festivals, cultural events, and in the most prestigious theaters throughout the United States, Canada, Russia, Italy and his native country. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Music Center (Los Angeles), the Kennedy Center, the United Nations and at Olympic Games in Russia and the United States. Using native Andean instruments, Villalobos composes and performs melodies from the heart. His melodies can be haunting and plaintive, or lively and jubilant, and give the listener "the feeling of being transported clear to the Andes Mountains…" (Los Angeles Times)

Pamela Whitman founded the world-rock band WorldColor. The band included musicians from around the globe, touring nationally and internationally, promoting peace through music for fourteen years. Her cultural exchange program with Nepal included collaborations with Nepal's leading musicians. The project included television, radio, recordings, tours and documentaries. Artists for a Better World honored Pamela in an international award ceremony for her humanitarian work in music. She has starred at such diverse venues as Brooklyn Academy of Music; Birendra International Convention Center (Nepal); Xinghai Concert Hall (China); House of Blues (Hollywood); Costa Rican Rainforest; Indian Reservations; Spiritual Centers and Performing Arts Centers throughout the United States. Pamela has been the Principal Flutist of the Ocean City Pops Orchestra since 1989. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Michigan.

Rich Kurtz creates ambient moods with electronica, cello, basses, piano and guitar. He plays upright bass in the Bay Atlantic Symphony and electric bass with numerous East Coast bands. Rich is one of the most experienced bassists working today, having performed thousands of recorded appearances and live concerts ranging from concerts on the beach to Carnegie Hall. He has performed with Ray Charles, George Benson, Luciano Pavarotti, Peter Cetera, Harry Connick Jr., Michael Feinstein, Andrea Bocelli and more. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance and Education.

The new release is the first in a series of forthcoming music releases from PeaceHear Recordings. The "Spirit" series will be a worldwide musical journey to faraway lands and inner realms.
