CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Jan. 8, 2021 - S.R. Snodgrass, P.C., an independent accounting and consulting firm headquartered in Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce the promotion of Brian E. Bender from Senior Manager to Vice President. With this promotion, Bender will lead S.R. Snodgrass's Nonprofit Practice Group.

Since joining the firm in 2018, Bender has significantly contributed to the growth and diversification of the Nonprofit Practice Group, having nearly tripled the group's active clients. He has dedicated his career to serving trade associations, membership organizations, social clubs, foundations, charities, and numerous other nonprofit entities, while also assisting both closely held businesses and employee benefit plans. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Association Executive. Currently, Bender serves as a Board Director for the Pennsylvania Society for Association Excellence. He also frequently presents at association conferences in the Mid-Atlantic area.

Bender is a member of many professional organizations, including the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Society of Association Executives. He served a three-year term on the AICPA Not-for-Profit Entities Expert Panel and, in 2019, was named a 40 under 40 honoree by CPA Practice Advisor.

Prior to joining S.R. Snodgrass, Bender worked for over a decade in public accounting and for more than five years as a financial executive for several large trade associations and an international membership organization. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting from West Virginia University and a Master of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in entrepreneurship, from Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School.
