AdvisorSmith Finds the Best Cities for Gig Delivery Workers

NEW YORK - Dec. 21, 2020 - AdvisorSmith, a leading resource for small business content, released its newest study that calculated which small, midsize, and large cities in the U.S. are the best for delivery workers who are independent contractors.

AdvisorSmith studied U.S. Census Bureau tax return data to determine the best cities for gig delivery workers to live and work in. The tax returns show earnings and employment data for gig workers in the delivery industry.

The study examined 376 U.S. cities to find the cities where gig delivery workers earn the most on an adjusted cost-of-living basis and where gig delivery work is abundant. The study found the 50 best cities and the top 20 small, midsize, and large cities.

The best overall city for gig delivery workers was Beckley, WV. Gig delivery workers in Beckley made an average of $28,149 a year. The city also has a low cost of living, making the dollar stretch further for Beckley residents.

The best small, midsize, and large cities were Beckley, WV; Tyler, TX; and Hartford, CT.
