The Arts Council awards $135,000 to Cumberland County Non-Profits

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - July 13, 2020 - The Arts Council of Fayetteville/ Cumberland County announces the recipients of the 2020-2021 Project and Operating Support Grants. 15 non-profit organizations were awarded funds totaling in $135,000. Project Support Grants, ranging from $1,000 - $30,000, are awarded annually to increase opportunities for access to cultural arts programming in Cumberland County.

Kennon Jackson, Jr., Grants Manager - "Project Support grants are an important resource for organizations in our community. These funds allow groups to highlight arts, culture, and history in Cumberland County and provide opportunities that otherwise may not exist."

Grants were awarded to fund projects for the following organizations:

Cape Fear Studios ($11,400)

Cape Fear Valley Medical Foundation ($6,800)

Cape Fear Valley Medical Foundation ($1,500)

Community Concerts ($19,000)

Crossroads Outreach Alternative Program Ministries ($4,675)

Cumberland County Public Library – 2021 Storytelling Festival ($3,300)

Cumberland Choral Arts: Youth Chorus ($1,500)

Cumberland Choral Arts: Youth Chorus ($1,500)

Ellington-White, CDC: Exhibition ($2,850)

Fascinate-U Children's Museum ($2,000)

Fayetteville State University – Performing and Fine Arts Department ($4,500)

Gilbert Theater ($22,000)

Groundswell Pictures ($6,400)

Kindred Ministries ($2,550)

Methodist University – David McCune Gallery ($7,125)

Methodist University – Friends of Music ($3,435)

Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex Foundation ($9,000)

Sweet Tea Shakespeare ($20.974)

Funding for Project Support Grants are received from the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County and the Cumberland County Occupancy Tax. State funds are provided through a grant from the Grassroots Arts Program of the North Carolina Arts Council. Additional funds are provided through the generous support of individual donors to the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County (Arts Council).
