Mobile Fitness App Announces Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign For Final Production Stage

KEARNY, N.J. - June 15, 2020 - A new fitness community is aimed at offering its users a safe space to be active by way of a mobile app community. Jabbie is a community-based wellness app focused on redefining fitness standards and providing support that encourages users to move their bodies in the best ways they know how.

The app was developed by co-founder Joy Cox, PhD, who utilized her education in Communication research and inclusivity training to create the app's tailored content. The company currently has an IndieGogo campaign and is looking to raise $27,000, with donations also being accepted directly online at Jabbieapp.com. Funds will go directly towards the app's final development stage. This unique fitness app focuses on accountability and inclusivity for people interested in physical fitness without the traditional rules and societal norms that often go with it.

"We specifically designed Jabbie for those who are not currently included in fitness conversations," explains Joy Cox, PhD. Adding, "We welcome people who are not considered 'fit' by societal standards while providing a safe space for people with identities that are readily discriminated against –– including those of any color, disability, body type, or sexual orientation."

Users within the app are able to send encouragements and feedback to other members by way of "troupes" that consist of the users' own network and the app itself via Jabbie's virtual assistant. Additionally, users can check-in with their troupe members, schedule workouts together, send encouragements, define workouts, and mark milestones that all can be shared within the app.

Bunmi Alo, who is also Co-Founder adds that, "We wanted to make our app accessible to everyone by offering our users an engaging and safe space to communicate, motivate, and encourage one another."

The app's founders are seeking to create a mobile fitness app with Jabbie unlike anything else currently offered, where users don't need to attend a gym, log their weight, or track what they eat in order to be active and involved.

Their crowdfunding campaign is currently online and can be supported directly at https://igg.me/at/jabbieapp through July 10th.
