SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - April 7, 2020 - California Lions Clubs will be hosting a Facebook Live Event tomorrow Wednesday April 8 at 12:00 Noon PST. The subject will be Covid 19 and Diabetes. California Lions Clubs Diabetes Chairperson Brian Ballard will be hosting endocrinologist Dr. Steven Edelman. Dr. Edelman is founder and director of Taking Control of Your Diabetes. He is professor of medicine at the University of California San Diego and medical director of the VA hospital San Diego. Dr. Edelman has also been a type 1 diabetic himself for over 40 years.

There has been much fear and concerns about Covid 19 and diabetes in the media. Dr. Edelman will be addressing many of these questions and issues. Dr. Edelman will take questions from the audience about Covid 19 and diabetes. "While people with chronic conditions such as COPD and diabetes are the most vulnerable to Covid 19, it is not all doom and gloom," Dr. Edelman explains. Tens of thousand of diabetics nationwide have been experiencing fear and anxiety of Covid 19 about being more vulnerable to the virus.
