AUSTIN, Texas - March 16, 2020 - In the fall out of SXSW canceling, business leaders rallied together to create rallyaustin.com and coalesce those that have solutions; local leaders throughout the Austin economy who focus on business and workforce. The group's primary motivation is to mitigate the great and insurmountable economic impact hitting Austin now. Thousands of part-time jobs, projects, and business opportunities were lost promptly, impacting Austin and those most in need. In the days since RALLY Austin has witnessed immediate economic shifts in the economy and is determined to support Austin to recover.
"The number one question we wanted to answer was what can we do right now to support the hundreds of small business owners in Austin who rely on SXSW, or are personally invested in helping our ATX community thrive?" said co-organizer and president of MediaTech Ventures John Zozzaro.
Zozzaro and nearly two dozen local business owners, corporate execs, and influencers convened to discuss strategy and reach out to others with actionable information. Within days, a platform and an online property were launched, leveraging data and technology compiled by Austin based Logictry, to communicate, combine efforts, post opportunities, and share resources to keep Austin thriving.
Austinites and supporters are asked to get involved where technology, data, streaming, and social media continue to converge as one experience to buoy the community economically. Local Austinite, Caroling Lee speaks about RALLY Austin.
"I don't think I could love this more. Thank you to all the people who brought this idea to life. I'm sure it's priceless to the people you're helping and it makes me so proud to be an Austinite." - Caroling Lee, DockYard, Inc.
RALLY Austin is moving forward by connecting the community of Austin to information, funds, and resource opportunities that will help the economy immediately, with safety at the forefront. Our goal is simple, to provide a tool and resource for small businesses, locals, and visitors to connect with one another and gain support in this difficult time.
