FORT LEE, N.J. - Jan. 1, 2020 - Most people are completely unaware of the fact that there are "phases" of addiction. These phases can start early in life. Sometimes something can happen to a person as a youngster who could not get the needed support from a parent, creating a "trigger" leading to addition. As a pharmacist, Dr. Balzani worked in retail, hospital and jail pharmacies, working directly with addicts and answering a hot line. He lectured on such topics as substance abuse to grammar, high school and college students. He also opened a successful Private OB-GYN Practice. In 1985, he became Medical Director of the Arts Drugs and Rehabilitation Center in Beth Israel Hospital, Passaic. Additionally, he detoxed and treated over 50,000 patients while there. And, as a pharmacist, he worked in retail, hospital and jail pharmacies, working directly with addicts and answering a hot line. His work includes being a physician in Teen OB and Maternal Infant Child Clinics, counseling patients about sexuality, STDs and substance abuse.
