December 25, 2019 - OGSI, one of the best fast loop sampling system providers based in Dubai explained the functioning of various sampling systems and analysis skids earlier this week. “According to API MPMS 8.2 there are two sampling methods which are known as In-line Automatic Grab Sampler and Fast Loop Sampling System.”, said Team OGSI.
Insert or In-Line Automatic Grab Sampler
This type of sampler is deemed to be a cost-effective option in situations when analyzers are not needed per project specification. It works wonders when metering systems function on a periodic basis. It allows maintenance to be carried out between batches. One of the biggest benefits of this sampler is that ability to directly mount it on the pipeline which one intends to sample. This sampler system contains a flow through port and the sampling system is designed in such a way that it grabs a small 1 cc sample from the flow. It later on pumps it through a gradient small bore pipe which is downward in direction. The small bore pipe ensures there are no water traps. More often than not the automatic sampler is coupled with many sample receivers and an automatic changeover mechanism system which facilitates easy switching between sample receivers once of those is already full.
Fast Loop Sampling System
Team OGSI shed light on fast loop sampling systems. They said that these are apt in applications which demand fluid quality analyzers as a mandatory need. Also, it works wonders for pipelines that work non-stop for many hours. Since, sampling bypasses the main line, it can easily be serviced without having to put brakes on the metering process.
These systems are amazing for crude oil, refined hydrocarbon products and condensates. These are also used as a stand-along unit for process control of various product parameters. Large transmission pipelines are a good example of it.
