NEW YORK - Aug. 19, 2019 - The BurnsOffroad app has integrated with BRP Connect™, the technology providing connectivity to riders of powersport vehicles through third-party smartphone apps.

BRP Connect™, developed in partnership with Bosch, was first introduced in September 2017 on BRP's popular Can-Am Spyder units. The addition of this new technology improves rider experience by making it easier for drivers to keep both hands on the handlebars and, at the same time, seamlessly enjoy smartphone functions.

As a result of the added feature from BurnsOffroad app, riders of BRP units equipped with BRP Connect™ will be able to easily access the app's comprehensive platform with features such as offline navigation and communication services, even while steering their vehicles.

BurnsOffroad is not limited to navigation: the app also helps users quickly find other riders to arrange trips together, exchange travel tips, share routes and photos. Features soon to be introduced include special services for off-road clubs, a storytelling feature called Travel Diary and a trail database.

"Developing a new design for our app to improve the user's experience onboard BRP vehicles was the most challenging part of the project," said Alex Burn, the app's founder. "We had to incorporate many intricate functions and work out new solutions that would enable the use of a joystick."

According to Burn, the app is now looking for strategic partners and investors that could help facilitate BurnsOffroad development in Europe, the U.S. and Canada.

"BurnsOffroad is a rapidly developing project and we'll keep improving our app," said Burn. "We are already planning to introduce similar solutions for playgrounds beyond off-road."
