According to Scientific American, about 15% of the population in the US is left-handed. Males are twice as likely to show this uniqueness than females. The world we live in is, though, right-hand oriented which makes it tough for left-handers. Just think of scissors, right-handed desks, gadgets and music instruments.

Coloring books are another category of items which is hard, or at least awkward, to use for left-handers. The Adult Coloring Book Series has released their first coloring book for adults and teens to cater to the left-handed minority and provide a suitable version for these colorists. According to the founder Celeste von Albrecht, all coloring books from the Adult Coloring Book Series will have this added option in the near future.

The first book with this left-hander option is the Paisley Coloring Book, Volume 1. The texts and images are on the left page, the right page is blank.

The Paisley symbol originated in Persia around 200 - 650 AD and was imported to Asia and Europe. It is a unique symbol in the shape of a mostly curving droplet, kidney, or cashew. Many different cultures have connected this symbol with differing objects, such as pin cones, cucumber, and feathers. Each country has a different name for it, for example bootar in India, palme in France, and peizuli in Japan. In 1790, Britain started their own Paisley wool shawl production. Due to the large production in the small town of Paisley, Scotland, the pattern was named Paisley and received it's Anglo name. In 1960 Paisley had a great comeback in the fashion world, and reached a new global popularity in 2010 with the use of this pattern on wall papers, furnish fabrics, screensavers and such. It is also a very popular pattern in adult coloring books.
Like coloring books in general, the Paisley Coloring Book has manifold benevolent effects on it's colorist: It is scientifically proven that coloring reduces stress, clears the mind, boosts creativity and problem solving, strengthens and keeps fine motor skills, improves relationships and can deepen meditation.
