9th Annual Chocolate on the Beach Festival Invaded by Pirates

Pacific Beach, WA - February 26-28, 2016 - Captain Savvy Jack along with Ocean Shores Pirates helped make the 9th Annual Chocolate on the Beach Festival a huge success! Chocolate on the Beach Festival promotes a new theme every year and this year's "Surrender the Booty for Chocolate" pirate theme was a hit with children and adults alike. Captain Savvy Jack said "I was honored to be the VIP (Very Important Pirate) for this whole event." and Rosemary Thomas said "I liked the theme of the Festival this year. It was a good event with lots of people socializing. We keep coming back."

Chocolate on the Beach Festival spans 10 miles of beautiful Washington coastline starting in Moclips and heading South to Copalis Beach and Copalis Crossing. This family friendly festival hosts vendors, parties, cooking classes, chocolatier demos, people's choice judging for best chocolate eats and drinks, as well as contests for prizes, trophies and bragging rights. Check their website for a list of winners [www.chocolateonthebeachfestival.com](http://chocolateonthebeachfestival.com).

Chocolate on the Beach Festival owes a great deal of its fun and success to its vendors. Crafters, candy makers and chocolatiers from all over the Pacific Northwest join them every year in The Hall of Sweets. They have crafters such as The Soap Chest, who make body care products, Glassy Baby and Earth and Clay, who make beautiful home goods and decor. Festival goers could spoil themselves with hand crafted jewelry from Fire Moon or spoil their pet with a toy from Pet Stuff. Spice up home cooked dishes with specialty olive oils from Navidis Oils or spices, jams and rubs from Ila's foods. A chocolate festival wouldn't be complete without its candy makers and chocolatiers. Hand crafted specialty truffles, including vegan options, from Blissful Wunders. Candy and lotions from indi Chocolates, or chocolate covered bacon from Melting Pot Candy, these are just a few of the fantastic vendors and products enjoyed at the Chocolate on the Beach Festival. Some of these vendors along with local chefs taught cooking classes throughout the weekend. There is always something for everyone.

The Chocolate on the Beach Festival supports Historical, Educational and Community programs on the North Beach, in Grays Harbor County, WA. They do this by providing a fun family event through the diversity of chocolate. The Festival has awarded over $20,000.00 in grants and donations since 2012! This year's grants will help supply LED Flares for the volunteer first responder trucks of Grays Harbor Fire District #8, safety signage and equipment for KXPB-LP outdoor community events, and new playground equipment for the Pacific Beach Elementary Parents Group.

Chocolate on the Beach Festival is already planning next year's festival theme... "Death by Chocolate!" Mark your calendar for February 24th-26th, 2017. This will mark the festival's 10th year and will be bigger and better than ever. Fans of the festival can be a part of the planning by joining them on Facebook, [facebook.com/ChocolateontheBeachFestival](http://facebook.com/chocolateonthebeachfestival), and voting for their favorite ideas for the 2017 Chocolate on the Beach Festival.
