Stunning Aerial Photos of the San Francisco Bay

Award-winning photographer, Justin Katz recently added an amazing collection of high-quality [aerial](http://www.jkatzphoto.com/Aerial-view-san-francisco/) [photographs of San Francisco](http://www.jkatzphoto.com/Aerial-view-san-francisco/) to his portfolio of travel, outdoor, and landscape photography. The series capture the incredible beauty of this coastal city at sunset in a way that few ever get to experience.

Chartering a small single-engine aircraft with an open window, Justin hung partially outside of the plane and photographed an incredible variety of stunning sunset images of San Francisco and its surrounding landmarks.

Although he usually shoots from a more stationary (tripod) platform, Justin says €œIt was an incredible experience, and I'm so glad that the photos came out the way they did, despite all the challenges of shooting from a vibrating platform in such low light." His portfolio mostly consists of ground-level landscape photos taken from his travels around the world.

Unlike with most landscape photography, where the artist has time to calculate the exposure settings, equipment, and accessories necessary to make the shot, shooting from a moving, vibrating airplane requires that you get everything right on the first pass. €œThere is no time to shoot, look at your shot, compensate, and shoot again. Since we were constantly moving and the lighting constantly changing, I had to get the settings right from the moment we took off."

In addition to these breathtaking aerial photographs, there is a large collection of various fine art landscape photos that are available for purchase on the main company website. Printing options are available on traditional gallery-quality paper, on canvas wraps, or on the new contemporary method of printing directly onto metal sheets. This new technique for displaying photographic art really gives a photo a unique vibrancy and color unmatched by previous display methods.

Justin recently won an award from Kolor for best stitched panorama with his skyline panorama of the San Francisco skyline. Check out the full [Justin Katz Photography](http://www.jkatzphoto.com/) portfolio and follow him on social-media for more great landscape photography content.
