Totem Acoustic just launched its first Kickstarter campaign to initiate production for the primary series of the new ARC digital amplifier.

Robert Valtierra, a research and development engineer in the field of electronics and embedded systems with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and Gabriel Bull, Director of Technologies at Totem Acoustic, share a passion for music and sound. The two joined forces while seeking support for the development of a device that could bridge the gap between satisfying sound quality and digital streamed music.
Today most of the music we listen to is digital; it's on our phones, our laptops or streamed from the web. But, being passionate about music, we feel a level of authenticity is missing. There is a disconnect, a real gap, between high quality audio systems and digital music," explains Robert Valtierra, inventor of the ARC amplifier.
Both Robert and Gabriel were avidly seeking a device that could stream their digital music yet still deliver the sound quality they were accustomed to. As their search proved fruitless, they started to develop a device on their own. The result is the ARC, a simple, compact and easy-to-use custom Class-D digital receiver and amplifier which has the capacity to stream any digital music via Bluetooth or USB cable to high-end sound systems while delivering the sound quality that music enthusiasts expect.
Currently, high-quality sound systems require large receivers and multiple components. They are expensive, bulky and heavy, and often lack modern digital inputs like Bluetooth or USB. On the other hand, most digital systems offer poor sound quality, even to the point of losing the magic in the music. And that is why we've created the ARC. The ARC was made to bridge the gap between fine sound and the world of digital music," explains Gabriel Bull, Director of Technologies at Totem Acoustic.
As the ARC is both a digital audio receiver and amplifier, the only components required are a pair of speakers and music. The ARC provides high-resolution USB audio and Bluetooth aptX streaming capabilities and drives a total of 120W. Being compact, it is space friendly and can easily fit into places unsuited for big amplifiers. With the USB port, the ARC brings high resolution audio directly to the desktop. A free optional app allows for more control and adjustment for an individualized sound experience. Highly versatile, the ARC can be connected to most 2- or 2.1 speaker systems. The optional and free Arc App allows to adjust the sound to suit personal style.

Totem Acoustic is counting on the Kickstarter campaign to get the first series of ARC into production. The campaign is presently up and running.
