Richard Hicks started this process to start Classic Roofing in Marietta Georgia in April 1993, and has recently finalized the transition by selling off his final shares of stock of Hicks Roofing. Due to the passing of his father, Derrick Hicks in 2011, Richard Hicks has decided to sell his share of stock in Hicks Roofing, Inc. This transaction will allow Richard Hicks to focus on his own company, Classic Roofing & Gutters, LLC, which was established in 1993. Richard Hicks will continue the family tradition that his father began in 1980 by being dedicated to customer service, top quality work and high standards in the roofing industry.
When asked about the reasons behind the decision to end the product, Richard Hicks, Owner of Classic Roofing said, "I started my company in April of 1993 because I felt that I had more to offer from my own personal experience combined with the experience of both my father and grandfather for my own ideas and future in the roofing industry."
The finalization of this transaction has recently taken place although it started back in April of '93. A total separation from this family business was consummated when Hicks final shares of company stock were sold back to the current owners. Although the owners of Hicks roofing and Classic Roofing and Gutters are family, the separation was mutually agreed upon and amicable.
When asked why they are announcing this separation today, Lindsey Hicks, Co-Owner of Classic Roofing said, "We realized that many of Richard's past customers were looking to find Richard recently to have new roofs installed or have him check their roof for leaks from storm damage. Because you only call your roofing contractor when your roof leaks or every 10, 15 or 20 years when you're considering a new roof, Richard's old customers just assumed that he was still at Hicks Roofing. We want to let people know that Richard has been at Classic Roofing in Marietta, since 1992 and they can now reach him there to get the same superior quality service they have come to expect from him."
