COSTA MESA, Calif. - July 16, 2019 - Dr. Daniel Hect, Chairman of the Masters Hall of Fame announced Dr. Ricardo Gonzalez will be honored at the Masters Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Hilton Costa Mesa.
"This is especially rewarding for me to have Dr. Ricardo Gonzalez recognized at the Masters Hall of Fame. I had the pleasure of working with Rick at USC's Department of Public Safety Defensive Tactics Team, Rick was one of our best instructors" said Dr. Daniel Hect, Masters Hall of Fame Chairman. "Dr. Rick has dedicated his academic and professional career to the improvement of police defensive tactics training. Rick earned his doctorate at the University of Southern California, writing his dissertation on "Preventing Excessive Force Incidents through effective Training" Hect stated.
"I am excited to be inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame; to be recognized with these legends is surreal," said Dr. Ricardo Gonzalez. "Studying police force options, and how to best integrate this information into police arrest and control training gives officers more options in the field, improving officer safety and creating a safer community," Gonzalez continued.
