Randy Cooper, Ph.D., the chief technology officer of NeoTech Aqua Solutions, will give a presentation at ULTRAPURE WATER Pharma 2013 that will be June 11-12 in the Chicago area at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lombard.
The ULTRAPURE WATER Pharma conference will be the first of two sessions at the Embassy Suites Hotel examining high-purity water treatment. On Thursday and Friday of that week NeoTech Aqua Solutions will sponsor a symposium on the use of ultraviolet (UV) systems.
Dr. Cooper’s talk at ULTRAPURE WATER Pharma will be Tuesday afternoon, June 11 on the topic, “Enhanced TOC Reduction in Pharmaceutical Ultrapure Water Systems Using Highly Reflective UV Disinfection Reactors.” The presentation, coauthored by him and John Wammes of Water Works Inc., will examine the use of UV systems in pharmaceutical water treatment. Their paper will specifically review the use of highly reflective UV reactors, and their ability to reduce total organic carbon (TOC) levels. He will compare the performance of these types of UV systems and conventional UV equipment in TOC reduction in high-purity water.
The presentation by Dr. Cooper and Mr. Wammes will be part of the two-day conference at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The meeting will feature two sessions. “Microbial Control in Purified Water Systems” will be the session them on Tuesday, Junes 11. Day 2’s theme will be, “Control of Pharmaceutical Water Systems.”
Co-moderators of the conference will be Anthony Bevilacqua, Ph.D., of METTLER-TOLEDO Thornton, and William V. Collentro of Water Consulting Specialists, both of whom have worked for many years with the different aspects of pharmaceutical water treatment.
In addition to technical papers, the conference will also feature tabletop exhibits by leading water business suppliers and offer attendees the opportunity to network with others active in pharmaceutical water treatment. As noted, immediately after the ULTRAPURE WATER Pharma conference, NeoTech Aqua Solutions will conduct a two-day UV Technical Symposium June 13 and 14 at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The theme for Thursday, June 13 will be: “General UV and High-Efficiency UV Technical Training.” The session will include training in the use of UV. Other topics to be addressed will include advanced oxidation processes, UV control systems, and UV systems service and maintenance.
The session theme for Friday, June 13 will be ”Product Development and Market Applications Training.” Topics will include new technical developments in UV, market uses, loop water applications in pharmaceutical plants, and advanced oxidation processes.
