Leveraging well over two decades of excellence in software engineering, Mr. Mehlschau has earned distinction as a teacher, software test engineer to Manager, with Computerland, Silicon Beach Software, Aldus Corp., Symantec, CTB/McGraw-Hill, Essential Software, and with his father, Eugene Mehlschau's, businesses Sunwest and Ecospray until his retirement. During his tenure, he focused his efforts on helping to provide technological solutions to assist businesses with adopting more user friendly systems, software automation, and on the farm environmentally friendly systems. Additionally, he has been a valued member of the California Farm Bureau.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Mehlschau, began his career as a combine operator in Santa Maria, California in 1980. He then was a production manager and Pest Control Advisor in 1985 until becoming a software engineer and owner of The Corp. Originality Workshop in 1987. Following this time, he was a quality assurance representative for Silicon Beach Software in 1989 and a software quality assurance project lead specializing in test automation with CTB/McGraw-Hill in 1994. He subsequently served as the SQA manager with Essential Software Inc. in 1998.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Mehlschau earned a Bachelor of Science in fruit industries from California Polytechnic State University in 1986 where he also studied as an exchange student at Massey University in New Zealand and attained a second bachelor's degree in information systems management from the University of San Francisco in 1998. Among his professional accomplishments, he was named the Most Productive Employee in the Information Technology division two years in a row by CTB/McGraw-Hill in Monterey, California, a 500 employee company.
Within the coming years, Mr. Mehlschau intends to spend more time on his hobbies, including skiing, which he enjoys teaching to the next generation. Soon he is planning to make suggestions to advise NASA on how it might be possible to create artificial gravity in space ships as well as habitats on the Moon and Mars.
