WANDSWORTH, U.K. - March 8, 2021 - Today Wandsworth Council's Economic Development office will be holding an event for Women based in the Borough.
Delegates will hear from panellists and guest speakers as they share practical tips, the inspirations behind their business, and reveal how they've adapted during these challenging times.
Wandsworth Council Deputy Leader Cllr Kim Caddy said: "Every year some of the most brilliant business minds in the borough come together for this celebration of female entrepreneurship. This year's event will be online, but I'm sure it will still be a great way to network and learn skills to help your business succeed. "Our business support programme highlight the importance of enterprise within the borough and gives both start -ups and established businesses an opportunity to access the support they need to develop, adapt and succeed."
The keynote speaker for the event is Safia Minney (https://safia-minney.com/profile/), MBE, award-winning social entrepreneur, founder and CEO of People Tree (https://peopletree.co.uk/) the Fairtrade and sustainable fashion retailer. Safia, a former wandsworth resident, will share her story of launching a pioneering social business and brand, whilst juggling a family, as well as why making Purpose central to your Business is now more important than ever.
She said: "I'm honoured and delighted to participating in Women's Enterprise Day and sharing my experience of putting people and planet central to business. We need entrepreneurs and real thought leadership in every sector at this time of great transition to a sustainable system. I'm also happy to be back in my old stomping ground!"
