NDB Launch First Original - "What Did I Do"

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Aug. 17, 2020 - NDB Publishing Group Company announced the launch of the Next Door Boys new single, "What Did I Do". Founded by drummer Matt Skoda in 2017, the band has evolved from those early days of classic rock covers to begin developing their own unique sound. With their youthful exuberance and extraordinary talent, the band has begun to write, perform and produce their music. From ideation to release, the band has taken ownership of the entire creative process. Along the way, they have had guidance from their music instructors and mentors that only Nashville could offer.

"What Did I Do" was a creative effort by lead guitarist Miles Morrow. Initially composed as a ballad for the Acoustic Guitar Project in Nashville and performed at the Country Music Hall of Fame, the band took the genesis of the song and "rocked it up" for release.

Reflecting the zeitgeist of the current social environment, "What Did I Do" is a reflection of the transition from youth to adulthood and the need to learn, be heard and reflect a desire to craft their own future as adulthood looms. The Next Door Boys are a band not only beginning to realize their own sound but also a group of young performers stepping into the breach of a music business in transition.

Lead vocalist Ethan Kress drives the melody through his soaring vocals while Miles Morrow and Kyle Harkins provide the guitar licks and Joe Larson offers harmonies and great work on keys. The band is anchored by drummer Matt Skoda and bassist Kai Foster. In the end, "What Would I Do" is a throwback to the glory days of rock when bands collaborated to create their music, their message and their sound while working hard to hone their craft.
