The German company from Berlin, PikeTec, presents an autonomously working test software called Autotester at the Embedded World 2020. As soon as the Autotester recognizes that the test conditions are fulfilled, all test cases will be run in the vehicle in parallel and autonomously. Thus, the Autotester can execute the test cases in the background while driving to the proving ground and assess them afterwards. "The Autotester is a relief for the test driver and can minimize the time invested", says Jens Luedemann, CEO of the PikeTec GmbH.
The Autotester is integrated in TPT 15, the most recent release of the test and verification software that is also presented at the trade fair. TPT 15 has a lot of new features. Thus, users of Polarion ALM will be delighted by the fact that TPT 15 has an interface to the test management software.
There's also good news for all those who are testing driver assistance systems: TPT 15 has now an interface to Virtual Test Drive (VTD) by Vires, so ADAS test cases become easier to execute. "This is a further step to test ADAS with TPT in an optimal way", Jens Luedemann says.
Detecting deviations in a great number of test cases has also become easier thanks to the new global assessment. The global assessment is used to define assessment rules that are applied to all test cases of a test run. After the assessment, the user gets feedback about any deviation from the definition and where the deviation occurred.
Test designers who are dealing with different physical units in test cases should also take a closer look at TPT 15 since the tool does now support the use of SI base units and allows SI-derived units.
