Oris aviator mission visits select cities in middle east and north africa

Oris, the Swiss watch manufacturer renowned for crafting fine mechanical movements, recently introduced their latest collections to watch lovers across the Middle East region.

Showcasing their latest range of timepieces that the brand unveiled at Baselworld 2015, on a 22-leg tour of Mediterranean and Middle East and North African cities, as part of the Oris Aviators’ Basel Mission, the brand brought the collection to one of the world's leading luxury markets.

Since its origin in 1904, Oris has gained the reputation for crafting timepieces made for people who are passionate about mechanical movements and who look for genuine, contemporary values. In short, real watches for real people!

One of the few independent Swiss watch manufacturers, each Oris watch is crafted by expert watchmakers at their workshop in Holstein, set in Switzerland's spectacular Jura mountain region. Renowned for specialising in mechanical movements assembled to the highest standards of precision, each Oris watch comes with a three-year watchmaker's guarantee.

The new Oris collection includes outstanding timepieces that represent the total spectrum of the four Oris worlds of culture, diving, aviation and motor sport.

Representing the world of Culture in the collection is the Tycho Brahe and Thelonius Monk Limited Editions. Signifying the best of the Motorsport line is the Audi Sport and Williams Limited Edition timepieces as well as the race-inspired Calobra. The Diving world is represented in the Aquis Depth Guage, Divers Sixty Five and Force Recon watches, while the Calibre 111 is a symbol of the brand's latest foray into movement innovation.

The three-man Oris Aviators’ Team was put together by Karim Gerber, Oris’s Middle East Region Manager. He was joined in the Oris-branded two-seater Pilatus PC-7 for alternate legs by ex-Swiss Air Force pilot Paul Ruppeiner, and former Swissair pilot Simon Maurer.

All three are members of a select group of Switzerland’s licensed air-show pilots, and bring vast flying experience to the mission. Paul, who began his flying career four decades ago, is also the founder of the Oris-sponsored Fliegermuseum in Altenrhein.

The 23-day mission, which had 22 legs, took the team to select destinations along the Mediterranean and the Middle East including: Thessaloniki, Cairo, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait.

At each location, the team presented the new collection at exclusive events while also providing specialist training to local retailers.
